Founded in 2014 by Mickey Juanda, a highly skilled ecotour guide in Central Borneo, Orangutan Journey specializes in promoting ecotourism, education, and conservation. With over a decade of experience, Mickey is dedicated to sharing the natural wonders and cultural heritage of his native Borneo, particularly in Tanjung Puting National Park, with travelers worldwide. His clientele includes President Bill Clinton, National Geographic Cruises, government officials, International TV documentary crews, tourists, families, and solo adventurers. Social Contributions
Orangutan Journey has been actively involved in community and social initiatives over the past decade. We have dedicated ourselves to educating local tourism workers, tour guides, and conservation communities, as well as mentoring tourism students in high schools. I am an anthropologist by academic background, but this experience was better than anything a university/course can teach. Because of your guidance I have been able to experience life-custom, culture, nature, 1st hand, and hand-in-hand with my beautiful daughter. Life is short, especially seen through the prism of 4 billion years of evolution. But seeing life through the veil of the Borneo rainforest - naturally removing the mystery of life - just witnessing as a privileged guest, life became magnificently present.
