The Best Journey of Borneo

Day 1

Welcome to Borneo!

Upon arriving in Pangkalan Bun, Central Kalimantan,

Our friendly tour guide from the Orangutan Journey team will greet you and escort you to Kumai, a quaint harbor town.

Here, you'll board your private Klotok, a traditional wooden river boat measuring about 15 meters by 3 meters, featuring an upper deck perfect for viewing the lush rainforest and the stunning national park as you sail. Your dedicated journey team, consisting of a boat captain, an assistant, and a chef, will be on hand to ensure a comfortable trip.

The adventure begins with a two-hour cruise up the Sekonyer River to Tanjung Puting National Park. Upon reaching Tanjung Harapan, the first camp, you'll embark on a 1-kilometer trek through the rainforest to witness the orangutans feeding at 3 PM. Take your time to enjoy and capture this unique experience while your guide shares fascinating stories about the camp and its resident orangutans.

After the feeding session, you'll return to the boat for a river safari, where you can observe the diverse wildlife along the riverbanks. Your day concludes with a delightful dinner on board and an overnight stay on the boat.
