Your tour guide will explain to you about the forest, its diversity, and the animals you may seen during your journey. Please don’t hesitate to ask  anything you want to know, or even to slow down the boat if you see any special sighting. The first day highlight is to witness the wildlife around the river banks, watch species of primates, and certainly see groups of the endemic Proboscis  monkey which can only found in the isolated areas of Borneo. Your Klotok will arrive at Rimba Lodge around sunset and you will be checked in  for dinner and your nights' accommodation.  This will officially end your first day of the journey.  Your evening is free time - to explore the Lodge, rest, relax and get ready for tomorrow!

You have your chance to  witness the orangutans in their real habitat, and the diverse of flora and fauna over this area.  You will visit The Camp Tourism Information Centre which  provides a great deal of background information on what you are seeing and the history and findings of the Camp Leakey project.  Back to your boat at mid-day you will be served lunch, a delicious menu based on fresh local produce. (We believe that a great journey is supported by  great culinary presentations). After lunch and time to relax, you will walk back to Camp Leakey for the orangutans afternoon feeding, (the daily supplemental given to the ex-captive  and rehabilitated orangutans released in the camp forest).  Here you also have your time to witness the resident orangutans behaviors, watch their  unique characters, and take all the pictures you want.  There are wild boars and long-tailed macaques that live around the camp that will add interest to  your visit. The resident orangutans are like people and they have moods. They may, at times, resent constantly being harassed for just another photo.  Follow  your guides instructions immediately and to the letter and observe all the Camp Leakey regulations.   As the evening draws in you leave Camp Leakey, heading back to Rimba Lodge to end the second day of your journey. (You also have an option to stay overnight on the boat and experience a night moored to the river bank in the depth of the forest.  Please let us know in  advance if you wish to book this option).
